Donations are needed for the silent auction at the Christmas Party on December 15. Gently used items in good shape are fine or an antique item that would make a nice gift. We thought perhaps you could find some items to use as Christmas gifts. So if you have something that would make a suitable gift, please consider donating it to our auction. If you have something to donate, please see Brandy Mullins or Julie Mulford. Thank you.

A Thanksgiving Fellowship is planned for November 19 right after service. Please sign-up on the sheet hanging on the bulletin board in the vestibule at the Walnut Street entrance. This will be a covered dish dinner. We have a ham donated. There was plenty of drink left over from the spaghetti benefit so we are changing the alphabet division to: A - M bring a side dish and N – Z bring a dessert. Thanks.

Meeting at Pastor’s House: There will be a meeting at the Pastor’s house this Tuesday at 6:30pm for all Sunday School teachers and anyone interested in becoming a teacher. Remember: God doesn’t call the qualified. He qualifies the called

Holiday Bazaar: God “had my back” this week and I want to publicly thank Him I didn’t call Hopewell School early enough to get a table at their Bazaar and when I called they were out of room. The lady I spoke with took my name for next year and we left it at that. The next morning she called me back and said they would open a hall for me if I didn’t mind that. I didn’t waste a second in accepting the space. Then she offered me 2 tables for the price of one. God is so GOOD! We have quite a bit of stuff left over from Bazaars in the past but if you have something to donate it would be welcomed. I can use baked goods and hand made crafts. But what I need most of all is someone to relieve me for a moment should I need to go to the restroom or someone to sit with me. It is Saturday from 9am to 3pm. Proceeds go to the general operations of the church.

CH… CH… CH …CH… CHANGES
Our Wednesday Night format is undergoing a small change but will bless your heart if you allow it. We will sing a few songs and then allow the Lord to minister through the body of Christ. You might have a testimony that would lift up His name, or perhaps you’ll have something to share that ministered to you when you read it. Maybe a poem, a story, a scripture reading, anything you read or heard that God used to move your heart. If you will prayerfully be open to the move of the Spirit and be obedient to His direction, I’m sure He will bless us all and we’ll experience growth. This will be a time of maybe 10 minutes before we dismiss as usual for the Bible study.

******************************************************************

A mom was concerned about her kindergarten son walking to school. He didn't want his mother to walk with him. She wanted to give him the feeling that he had some independence but yet know that he was safe.

So she had an idea of how to handle it. She asked a neighbor, Mrs.
Goodnest, if she would please follow him to school in the mornings, staying at a distance, so he probably wouldn't notice her.

Mrs. Goodnest said that since she was up early with her toddler
anyway, it would be a good way for them to get some exercise as well, so she agreed.

The next school day, Mrs. Goodnest and her little girl, Marcy, set out following behind Timmy as he walked to school with another neighbor boy he knew. She did this for the whole week. As the boys walked and chatted, kicking stones and twigs, Timmy’s little friend noticed the same lady was following them as she seemed to do every day all week. Finally he said to Timmy, "Have you noticed that lady following us to school all week? Do you know her?"

Timmy nonchalantly replied, "Yeah, I know who she is".

The friend said, "Well, who is she"?

"That's just Shirley Goodnest", Timmy replied, "and her daughter
Marcy".

"Shirley Goodnest? Who the heck is she and why is she following us"?

"Well", Timmy explained, "every night my Mom makes me say the 23rd Psalm with my prayers, 'cuz she worries about me so much. And in the Psalm, it says, 'Shirley Goodnest and Marcy shall follow me all the days of my life', so I guess I'll just have to get used to it"!

The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift His countenance upon you, and give you peace. Numbers 6:22-26

May Shirley Goodnest and Marcy be with you today, and always.
