VBS News: Sis.
Cindy Coakley will be at the church every night from
5pm to 8:45pm working on props and such. She needs
all the help she can get. If you have any spare time,
stop in to see what you can do to help. If you get to
the church and it’s not open, she lives in the
house attached to the church, and invites you to
knock on her door to let her know you’re there.
Volunteers
Needed:
Vacation Bible School will be August 14 -18 from 6pm
to 9pm. Male actors are needed for small skits to be
performed each day. Please see Sis. Cindy Coakley.
Vacation
Bible School Pre-Registration: Please
get your child/children registered early. See the
display in the vestibule/Welcome Center area.
Donations
Needed: Baked
goods are needed for our Bake Sale at Wal-Mart next
Saturday (July 22). You can either drop your item off
at the table at Wal-Mart (Sis. Cindy will be there by
8am) or contact Sis. Cindy Coakley to make
arrangements. Thank you.
Church Yard Sale: If you
have something to get rid of, why not bring it in for
the yard sale? It will be August 3,4 & 5. We can
also use bags, paper and plastic. Please mark your
calendars and set aside some time to volunteer your
help. This is a major undertaking and we appreciate
any and all the help we can get. Your donations are
greatly appreciated as well!
New Life Ministries Block Party: What a
wonderful time it was! Teresa Coakley and her back up
singers (Arminta, Timothy, and Emily Coakley) started
the evening out with a couple of songs. There was
free food and drink, live entertainment, lots of
friendly folks, and games. I especially enjoyed the
dunking cage and watching Pastor Granger being
dropped into the tank I encourage more of you to
attend next year and be in prayer for community
involvement. This was a wonderful community activity
for the family and New Life Ministries did an
excellent job in putting it together.
Street
Ministry: There was
a nice turn out of youth participation. 100 more
flyers were passed out. Keep these homes in your
prayers.
FYI:
Timothy
Coakley has a part in The Music Man being performed
at Triple Locks Theater. We enjoyed the production
and were very proud of our Timothy. He did an
excellent job. Contact theater for dates and times
and ticket info.
THANK
YOU: What a
wonderful relaxing time we had in Virginia. The
mountains were beautiful! Our send off was such an
inspiring event, I will forever be grateful to our
Lord for allowing me to know such love! Your
sacrifice of time and energy is humbling to me, for I
don’t deserve this kind of dedication!
But… Hallelujah!!! The computer is paid for!!!
I just want everyone that worked the fundraisers to
know that I appreciate it! I love you!
Tickets
For Sale: Sis.
Brenda Mourer is selling tickets for a drawing of
various items. The proceeds
are to help with medical expenses in the care of a
special little girl with autism. See Sis. Brenda if
you are interested in helping this family out.
Food Pantry: Though it
won’t we very big, we will once again be able
to have a small food pantry of canned goods. If you
would like to contribute to getting it stocked up,
bring in your items and put them in the Welcome
Center area behind the couch. God is so good to allow
us to be used in this way once again. Praise Him!
CONGRATULATIONS!
To Matt
& Jill Smith. Brylie Jane was born Wednesday,
July 12. She’s an 8lb 9oz, 21” long
bundle of pure joy according to Pastor (who got to
hold her already!) Please pray for this family as
they adjust to the new addition to the household.

THE LORD!!! GOD ANSWERED OUR PRAYER!!!

A
merry heart doeth good like a
medicine…Proverbs 17:22.
This one’s for you, ladies
Women over
50 don't have babies because they would put them down
and forget where they left them. One of life's
mysteries is how a 2 pound box of candy can make a
woman gain 5 lbs. My mind not only wanders, it
sometime leaves completely. The best way to forget
all your troubles is to wear really tight shoes. The
nice part about living in a small town is that when
you don't know what you're doing, someone else does.
Just when I was getting used to yesterday, along came
today. Sometimes I think I understand everything,
then I regain consciousness. I gave up
jogging for my health when my thighs kept rubbing
together and setting my pantyhose on fire. Amazing!
You hang something in your closet for awhile and it
shrinks two sizes! Skinny people irritate me!
Especially when they say things like, "You know,
sometimes I just forget to eat." Now I've forgotten
my address, my mother's maiden name, and my keys. But
I've never forgotten to eat. I read this article that
said the typical symptoms of stress are: eating too
much, impulse buying, and driving too fast. Are they
kidding? That is my idea of a perfect day.
Just as
the psalmist says: We are fearfully and wonderfully
made. We may have our little quirks and
idiosyncrasies, but we are made masterpieces at the
hand of the Master Artist!!!
Happy Birthday:
