Mother/Daughter Banquet: Thanks Sis. Deborah Frye. A great time of fellowship.

Mark Your Calendar: Our Lake Park Fellowship will take place on Father’s Day this year. More info will come later but wanted to give you a head’s up

The Passion of Christ: On May 30 we will be showing the movie during our Wednesday night service as wrap up of our Way of the Master Seminar. Anyone and everyone is welcome to come watch it – even if you didn’t participate in the seminar. If you know of someone who would like to see it, bring them along. The children’s classes will proceed as usual. It is up to the parent whether your child sees it but you need to know it is rated R and quite shocking to the viewer.

Christian T-Shirts: For Sale $12. Hanging behind the door in the Central School Entrance. See Robin for purchase. There are also a few items on the register in the Walnut Street Entrance for sale. Put money in the can.

Mother’s Day: There will be no evening service tonight. Spend some time with your mother. If your mother has passed on, ask the Lord what He would have you do.

A thank you from the alternative school: Principal McNeal wrote, On behalf of all the students who have attended, are attending, or will be attending the Coshocton County Alternative School, I would like to thank you for your very generous financial donation to our school. [The letter in its entirety is posted on the bulletin board at the Walnut Street entrance if you would like to read it.]

ADVICE FOR THE DAY:

Be nice to your kids. They will choose your nursing home one day.

Before I was a Mom I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby. ♥ I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.♥ I never thought about immunizations. ♥♥ Before I was a Mom - I had never been puked on. ♥♥ Pooped on. ♥♥ Chewed on. ♥♥ Peed on. ♥♥ I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts. ♥♥ I slept all night. ♥♥ Before I was a Mom I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests. ♥♥ Or give shots. ♥♥ I never looked into teary eyes and cried. ♥♥ I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin. ♥♥ I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep. ♥♥ Before I was a Mom I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put them down. ♥♥ I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt. ♥♥ I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much. ♥♥ I never knew that I could love someone so much. ♥♥ I never knew I would love being a Mom. ♥♥ Before I was a Mom - I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body. ♥♥ I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby. ♥♥ I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child. ♥♥ I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy. ♥♥ Before I was a Mom - I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay. ♥♥ I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom. ♥♥ I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much before I was a Mom. ♥

WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT…CHILD TRAINING continued By J. Richard Fugate
Children Must Obey Both Their Father and Mother
Colossians 3:20a “Children obey your parents in all things;”
The word translated “obey” from the Greek language is a command and means “to hear and obey.” In other words, this passage says children must do what they are told. This means that a parent’s word is law for children. You may never have considered yourself to be someone who has the right to create law, but as far as your child is concerned, your word is law. If your child is disobedient to your word, he has broken the law you have set for him. Your children are to do what you tell them to do. Even though this command is addressed to children, parents, as the ones who are in charge, are accountable for its fulfillment as long as the children are under their control. God always holds the ones in authority responsible for the actions of those under their rulership. The parents are accountable to God for the obedience of their children. A parallel to this principle is that God has commanded man not to commit murder., but He has given government the responsibility and the power to administer the judgment of the death penalty. In the same way, God has given parents the power to enforce the child’s compliance to obey his parents in all things.

1. You spend the first two years of their life
teaching them to walk and talk. Then
you spend the next sixteen telling them to sit down and shut up.
2. Grandchildren are God's reward
for not killing your own children.
3. Mothers of teens now know why
some animals eat their young.
4. Children seldom misquote you.

In fact, they usually repeat word for word what
you shouldn't have said.

 5. The main purpose of holding children's parties
is to remind yourself that there are
children more awful than your own.
