Prayer Meeting: Thursday from 6pm to 8pm. Matthew 26:39 Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will." 40 Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. "Could you men not keep watch with me for one hour?" he asked Peter.
Lake Park Fellowship today after service. Even if you can’t stay all day please join the fellowship of breaking bread together. We love you and miss you when you don’t come.
American Red Cross Information. June 17th. It will be at the Civic Center from noon to 6. On Monday night, the 16th anyone who would like to help clean the vegetables will meet at the old armory on Otsego Ave.
Auction: Next Sunday there will be an auction of baked goods and/or casserole dishes to help fund a trip to Kentucky for the kids. The auction will take place in the lobby immediately following service. The trip includes an inspiring visit to a church with an “on fire” youth group. PLEASE plan to support this event! Our (yes I said OUR) kids need our support.
Congratulations to A.J. & Bri Williams who were united in holy matrimony yesterday!
FYI:Tic Removal Apply a glob of liquid soap to a cotton ball. Cover the tick with the soap-soaked cotton ball and let it stay on the repulsive insect for a few seconds (15-20), after which the tick will come out on it's own and be stuck to the cotton ball when you lift it away.
SOME FATHERLY ADVICE
Listen, my sons, to a father's instruction; pay attention and gain understanding. Proverbs 4:1
Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord. Ephesians 6:4
Fathers, do not embitter your children, or they will become discouraged. Colossians 3:21
Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father?
Hebrews 12:7
The living, the living—they praise you, as I am doing today; fathers tell their children about your faithfulness.
Isaiah 38:19
Since you call on a Father who judges each man's work impartially, live your lives as strangers here in reverent fear. 1 Peter 1:17
OUR FATHER
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6
How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! 1 John 3:1
A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.
Psalm 68:5
As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him; Psalm 103:13
Yet, O LORD, you are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.
Isaiah 64:8
Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of our spirits and live!
Hebrews 12:9
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
James 1:17
Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world—the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does—comes not from the Father but from the world. 1 John 2:15,16
