Christmas Fellowship: Also Brandy Mullins and Connie Williams are planning the Christmas Fellowship. The Fellowship date will be announced soon. It will also be a covered dish event. There will be an auction this year and donations are needed ASAP. All donations can be given to Brandy or Connie.
Project Warm Up: Collecting new or used items to be given out this winter to those in need. Items to be collected-Children's coats, gloves, boots, hats, blankets or donations. See Norma Mardis for more information.
Don't Forget: it's time to turn your clocks back, November 4.
Let's Go Thriftin': Hey ladies, there will be a thrifting trip to Columbus on Friday November 9. Please let Robin know if you are interested in going. Thanks.
Candy Donations: We need donations of candy to pass out with tracts this year in the plaza. You can leave your donations/offerings on the table by the drinking fountain. Bless you!
Something cool that Xerox is doing: If you go to this web site, http://www.letssaythanks.com/ you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq. You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to some member of the armed services. How AMAZING it would be if we could get everyone we know to send one!!! Please send a card. It is FREE and it only takes a second. Wouldn't it be wonderful if the soldiers received a bunch of these? Whether you are for or against the war, our guys and gals over there need to know we are behind them...
Challenging God
One day, an atheist professor who constantly tries to disprove God stood up on a podium in front of his class and said, "Today class I will disprove God! If God really exists then he will knock me off this podium within 15 minutes!" The professor then took his watch and started to keep time. ... "10 minutes to go God!" ... "5 minutes to go God!" ... Now a football player was outside the door and heard the teacher counting. When he heard what the teacher was doing, he was furious and waited. "1 minute left! Well class as you can see there is no possible way that i will come off this podium no so your God is..." At that moment the football player came charging in and tackled the professor off the podium and onto the floor. Stunned the professor stammered, "wh-where did you come from?!" The football player smirked and replied, "God was busy so he sent me."
Morning Prayer
Dear God, I pray I'll not take for granted today The daily blessings you give Like the sweet smell of a flower or the green grassy hill. May I not walk at such a pace That I miss the beauty of the place, Nor the smile of a child at play Or the song of the blue jay. And may I travel not so fast today That I fail to help someone along the way.

A grandfather overheard his granddaughter repeating the alphabet in reverent, hushed tones.
"What are you doing?" he asked.
"I'm praying, Grandpa," she said. "I can't think of the right words, so I just say all the letters. God will put them together for me, 'cause he knows what I'm thinking."
