Women’s Bible Study: Tonight at 6pm here at the church.
Youth Choir News: Change in Youth Choir practice to Sunday’s at 4:00 pm. Special planned at West Lafayette Care Center on October 4 at 6:00 pm with Young At Heart Ministries and Care Center residents. Pizza will be delivered after service. It’s not too late to join the choir. We have ongoing open enrollment.
Shiloh Baptist Church is preparing to open a shelter to house homeless people. They need volunteers to help keep it open. The volunteers would be needed for 3 – 6 hours per week. I can guarantee there is a need for such a place. I deal with homeless people quite often through Women of Witness. Please consider helping out with this if you have some free time. The shelter will open on October 5 so please call soon. You can call 622-3632 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays. I believe she said her name is Brooke but not sure on that.
Directory Correction with Apologies: Please look at the list of children in Sandy Brown’s entry and change Trevor to Trenten. She never has had a grandchild by the name of Trevor and no matter how many times I say it, it won’t change Trenten’s name. SORRY SIS. SANDY!!!
Attention Cleaning Crews: It is OK now to mop the upstairs floors. The downstairs can’t be mopped until October. Thanks.
October 31 is coming. We appreciate any candy donations to give along with a gospel tract at the Plaza. If you want to help hand out, please see Pastor or Robin.
I asked God to take away my habit.
God said, No.
It is not for me to take away, but for you to give it up.
I asked God to make my handicapped child whole.
God said, No.
His spirit is whole, his body is only temporary
I asked God to grant me patience.
God said, No.
Patience is a byproduct of tribulations;
it isn't granted, it is learned.
I asked God to give me happiness.
God said, No.
I give you blessings; Happiness is up to you.
I asked God to spare me pain.
God said, No.
Suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you closer to me.
I asked God to make my spirit grow.
God said, No.
You must grow on your own! ,
But I will prune you to make you fruitful.
I asked God for all things that I might enjoy life.
God said, No.
I will give you life, so that you may enjoy all things.
I asked God to help me LOVE others, as much as He loves me.
God said...Ahhhh, finally you have the idea.
THIS DAY IS YOURS DON'T THROW IT AWAY
PLEASE!!! There are items that were left here from VBS on the table by the water fountain. After today these items will go to the trash man, so if your child has something they want for a memento please see that it is taken. Thank you.
HOW DO YOU DECIDE WHO TO MARRY?
You got to find somebody who likes the same stuff. Like, if you like sports, she should like it that you like sports, and she should keep the chips and dip coming.
-- Alan, age 10
No person really decides before they grow up who they're going to marry. God decides it all way before, and you get to find out later who you're stuck with.
