Men’s Dart League: Done. See you next year.

Services have resumed. Thank god we are finally back home Sunday and Wednesday Services are back to normal now. PTL!!!

Work Ethics: The Bible tells us we are to do all to the glory of God. Are you giving your all to do the job your employer hired you to do? Do your fellow employees see you being a good Christian example in the work you do on the job? Are you giving the same energy to the house of God? There will be a work day this coming Saturday, March 4, starting at 1pm.

FYI: Any time you are wondering if Word Worship Center is having services just listen to the cancellations on WTNS. If we have to cancel, it will be announced there. You are always welcome to call pastors house too but no guarantee you’ll find us home. Back to the radio

DADDY'S EMPTY CHAIR  ~ A man's daughter had asked the local minister to come
and pray with her father. When the minister arrived, he found the man lying in bed
with his head propped up on two pillows.
An empty chair sat beside his bed. The minister assumed that the old fellow had been informed of his
visit. "I guess you were expecting me, he said. “No, who are you?" said the father.
The minister told him his name and then remarked, "I saw the empty chair
and I figured you knew I was going to show up,"
"Oh yeah, the chair," said the bedridden man. "Would you mind closing the door?"
Puzzled, the minister shut the door.
"I have never told anyone this, not even my daughter,” said the man. "But all of my life I have never known how to pray. At church I used to hear the pastor talk about prayer, but it went right over my head."
I abandoned any attempt at prayer," the old man continued; "until one day
four years ago, my best friend said to me, "Johnny, prayer is just a simple matter of
having a conversation with Jesus.
Here is what I suggest "Sit down in a chair;
place an empty chair in front of you,
and in faith see Jesus on the chair.
It's not spooky because he promised; ‘I will be with you always'.
"Then just speak to him in the same way
you're doing with me right now."
"So, I tried it and I've liked it so much that I do it
a couple of hours every day. I'm careful though. If my daughter saw me talking to an empty chair, she’d either have a nervous breakdown or send me off to the funny farm."
The minister was deeply moved by the story
and encouraged the old man to continue on the journey.
Then he prayed with him, anointed him with oil,
and returned to the church.
Two nights later the daughter called to tell the minister that her
daddy had died that afternoon.
Did he die in peace?" he asked.
”Yes, when I left the house about two o'clock, he called me
 over to his
bedside, told  me he loved me and kissed me on the cheek. When I got back from the store an hour later, I found him dead.
But there was something strange about his death. Apparently, just before Daddy died, he leaned over and rested his head
on the chair beside the bed.
What do you make of that?"
The minister wiped a tear from his eye and said,
"I wish we could all go like that."

Prayer is one of the best free gifts we receive.
WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT…CHILD TRAINING continued
By J. Richard Fugate
Continued from the introduction: Beyond the purpose of this book, to produce successful parents, is the hope to aid our nation. God intends for mankind to live in harmony within a national entity, under law, in marriage, and in working and business relationships. When parents fail in properly training their children, every other institution within that national entity disintegrates, and eventually the nation itself is destroyed. We are now experiencing the destruction of the Western Civilization. Not only have the past few generations been unable to attain God’s general purpose to live in harmony, but few individuals have been able to find specific purpose in their very existence.

Children Are To Honor Both Their Father and Mother
Exodus 20:12 “Honor thy father and thy mother, that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

Ephesians 6:2 “Honor thy father and mother (which is the first commandment with promise);”

Both the Hebrew and Greek words translated “honor” to mean “to honor, revere, or have great respect for someone.” Children are commanded to honor both their father and mother. Parents are to receive from their children the respect due their position. Many parents may not consider themselves worthy of honor, but they still hold the God-given position of ruler over their children. They may feel themselves under-educated or unsuccessful in every other area of life, but as parents, they are to be respected. Neither a father nor a mother should ever allow disrespect to be shown toward his or her position. They have the right to rule because God gave that right to parents, not because it is one they have earned or deserved.
As a parent, you hold a position of authority. It is necessary for you to understand thoroughly the principles of authority so that you can accept and function in that position.

Those who mocked God....

(Galatians 6:7): " Be not deceived; God
is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

Here are some men and women who mocked God:

JOHN LENNON:
Some years before during his interview with an American Magazine,
he said:

"Christianity will end, it will disappear. I do not have to argue
about that. I am certain. Jesus was ok, but his subjects were too
simple, Today we are more famous than Him" (1966).

Lennon, after saying that the Beatles were more famous than Jesus
Christ, was shot six times. TANCREDO NEVES (President of Brazil):
During the Presidential campaign, he said if he got 500 votes from
his party, not even God would remove him from Presidency.

Sure he got the votes, but he got sick a day before being made President,
then he died. CAZUZA (Bi-sexual Brazilian composer, singer and poet):
During a show in Canecão ( Rio de Janeiro ), whilst smoking his
cigarette, he puffed out some smoke into the air and said: "God,
that's for you."

He died at the age of 32 of AIDS in a horrible manner.
THE MAN WHO BUILT TITANIC:
After the construction of Titanic, a reporter asked him how safe
the Titanic would be. With an ironic tone he said: "Not even God can
sink it"

The result: I think you all know what happened to the Titanic.

MARILYN MONROE:
She was visited by Billy Graham during a presentation of a show.
He is a preacher and Evangelist and the Spirit of God had sent him to
preach to her.

After hearing what the Preacher had to say, she said:
"I don't need your Jesus"

A week later, she was found dead in her apartment.
BON SCOTT:
The ex-vocalist of the AC/DC. On one of his 1979 songs he sang:

"Don't stop me, I'm going down all the way, wow the highway to
hell".

On the 19th of February 1980, Bon Scott was found dead, he had
been choked by his vomit.
CAMPINAS/SP IN 2005
In Campinas, Brazil a group of friends, drunk, went to pick up a
friend. The mother accompanied her to the car and was so worried about the
drunkenness of her friends and she said to the daughter - holding
her hand, who was already seated in the car: "MY DAUGHTER, GO WITH GOD AND MAY HE PROTECT YOU",

She responded: ONLY IF HE (GOD) TRAVELS IN THE BOOT (trunk), COZ INSIDE HERE IT'S ALREADY FULL"

Hours later, news came by that they had been involved in a fatal
accident, everyone had died, the car could not be recognized what
type of car it had been, but surprisingly, the boot was intact.

The police said there was no way the boot could have remained
intact. To their surprise, inside the boot was a crate of eggs, none were broken.

WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT…CHILD TRAINING continued
By J. Richard Fugate
Continued from the introduction: The need for clear guidelines for parents to be successful in child training is dramatically evident in our society today. Many parents have virtually no control over their own children. This lack of control is evidenced in many ways such as the flagrant disrespect shown even by very young children, intense parental frustration, and the inability of even Christian parents to train their children into young adults who accept their parents’ standards as their own.

Children Are To Be Trained By Their Parents

Deuteronomy 6:6 & 7 “And these words , which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart. And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.”

Ephesians 6:4 “And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath, but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.”

Proverbs 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

If you, as a parent, really desire the best for your children, you will observe these commands to train your children. Training requires that you teach them and that your teaching is accepted. Before your child will receive your instructions, he must first honor your position.

WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT…CHILD TRAINING continued
By J. Richard Fugate
Continued from the introduction: It is not necessary to be a Christian to understand or to utilize most Biblical information on child training. Information on the institution of the family is available to all humanity. However, only the Christian who is mature in the Word and empowered by the Spirit of God will be able to train his child “ in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.” (Ephesians 6:4b)

Parent Accountability
God has entrusted you, as human parents, with His creation of life. You would not have your child if it were not for the will of God.
Job 33:4 “The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty has given me life.”
The fact that God has entrusted you with His creation makes you accountable to God for this gift of life. God, as a responsible Creator, has a purpose and plan for everything that He creates.
Psalms 127:3 “Lo, children are an heritage of the Lord; and the fruit of the womb is his reward.”
“Children” and “fruit of the womb” refer to the physical results of human reproduction. The phrase “heritage from the Lord” refers to the source of the child’s soul life. Children are genetically a product of the parents, but God is the source of every child’s essence of life. The word translated “heritage” from the Hebrew means “an inheritance which is not given according to hereditary rights, but is a gift from the freewill of the donor.” In other words, your child is a gift from God.
You might ask yourself what your purpose was in having children. Did you actually consider how or why you would raise a family? Most of mankind have not even discovered the purpose for their own existence, much less the purpose for their children. Man generally is not a responsible creator and often finds himself a parent without either planning or purpose for his children.
After having children, parents begin to envision how the children will turn out when they are grown. They hope that their children will become well adjusted, moral, educated adults. However, little thought is usually given to the attainment of these results.
God has a plan and a purpose for each child. Each child is a life from God that is placed in a specific family as a part of that plan. God has set children under their parents’ control for approximately one-third of their life. Unlike animals that raise their young for only a few months, children are dependent on their parents for an extensive training period. Animals need to receive training only for physical existence, but a child requires training for his soul. Parents are responsible to train their children according to God’s standards.

WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT…CHILD TRAINING continued
By J. Richard Fugate
Continued from the introduction: [This book] is unique in that the subject is handled solely from the Biblical viewpoint. The author accepts the Bible as absolute truth and as infinitely superior to any human system of thinking. There has been no attempt to modify God’s Word to make it compatible with human philosophies, psychology, sociology, religious views, or public opinion. God’s Word is accepted as is, without human adulteration. The Bible is also accepted as living and powerful information that is as relevant today as in the day when it was first revealed.
The Cursing
Proverbs 10:1b “…a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.”
Proverbs 17:21 “He that begetteth a fool doeth it to his sorrow; and the father of a fool hath no joy.”
Proverbs 29:15b “…a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.”
These examples of cursing for parents reveal the sorrow and heartache they experience as their child rebels in his teens and early twenties. This cursing continues as the parents observe their child experiencing intense pressure as a result of his attempting to live a selfish and willful existence. They see his self-centered attitude affect his education, career, marriage, and family – eventually destroying what could have been a productive life. Thus the children themselves become the instruments of cursing to their own parents.
Many thousands of parents today are observing the failures of their grown children with this kind of sorrow in their hearts. Perhaps nothing fosters more grief in good, moral parents than seeing their children totally rebel against everything for which those parents stand.
For those of you who have already experienced this sadness through your grown children, we sorrow with you. This book has been written to assist parents in avoiding the pain you have suffered,
Training children is not a hit-or-miss proposition in which the parent has no control. It is not that some children just turn out okay while others may not. There is no such thing as a “bad seed.” Even though a child could conceivably reject all attempts to train him properly, he would have to choose clearly against what he knows to be right. Even the one who rebels against good child training is likely to return to a productive life after his period of rebellion.
God has provided His truth to enable every parent to receive blessing rather than cursing. It is the responsibility of each mother and father to seek this truth and then to apply it in training their children. Even if you have failed miserably up to now, you can still affect your child’s future by committing yourself to God’s way. It ordinarily takes a full nineteen years to raise either a fool or a wise child. However, it is possible (with God’s grace) to reverse twelve to thirteen years of fool raising and to start the child on the right path within the remaining six or seven years. To accomplish this feat will require an understanding of and a commitment to God’s viewpoint on child training.
Properly training a child is the maximum expression of true love that a parent can give their child. No amount of material benefits parents could ever give a child can take the place of truly caring enough for him to train him. If you really love your child, train him; you and he both will receive the blessings that are promised by God.
