Ladies Day Out: Sat. March 19 (Weather permitting). There will be a sign up sheet on the back register as we draw closer to the date. We will cast a vote on the sign up sheet to either go out for lunch and shopping in Zanesville at the Golden Corral and then Northpoint Center (Up the hill from Golden Corral) or to the smorgasbord in Newark and shopping wherever. We’ll leave around 11 am. If anyone would like to top it off with a movie let Robin know
Darts: I would like to thank the ladies who cooked for the men and the men who donated toward our canopy for the Apple Butter Stirrin’ Festival. We have $267 to work with and it’s because of YOU! Bless you!
Speaking of the Apple Butter Festival, they are going with a Civil War theme this year and are allowing crafters to include items that fit the theme. Your costumes may also be Civil War themed. 2011 dates are October 14, 15 & 16.
God wisely designed the human body so that we can neither pat our own backs nor kick ourselves too easily.
GREAT TRUTHS THAT LITTLE CHILDREN HAVE LEARNED:
1) No
matter how hard you try, you can't baptize cats.
2) When your Mum is mad at your Dad, don't let her
brush your hair.
3) If your sister hits you, don't hit her back. They
always catch the second person.
4) Never ask your 3-year old brother to hold a
tomato.
GREAT
TRUTHS THAT ADULTS HAVE LEARNED:
1) Raising
teenagers is like nailing jelly to a tree.
2) Wrinkles don't hurt.
3) Families are like fudge...mostly sweet, with a few
nuts
GREAT
TRUTHS ABOUT GROWING OLD
1) Growing
old is mandatory; growing up is optional.
2) Forget the health food. I need all the
preservatives I can get.
3) When you fall down, you wonder what else you can
do while you're down there.

Every time I am asked to pray, I think of the old fellow who always prayed, 'Lord, prop us up on our leanin' side.' After hearing him pray that prayer many times, someone asked him why he prayed that prayer so fervently.
He answered, 'Well sir, you see, it's like this.... I got an old barn out back. It's been there a long time; it's withstood a lot of weather; it's gone through a lot of storms, and it's stood for many years.
It’s still standing. But one day I noticed it was leaning to one side a bit.
So I went and got some pine poles and propped it up on its leaning side so it wouldn’t fall.
Then I got to thinking about that and how much I was like that old barn.. I've been around a long time.
I’ve withstood a lot of life's storms. I've withstood a lot of bad weather in life, I’ve withstood a lot of hard times, and I'm still standing too. But I find myself leaning to one side from time to time, so I like to ask the Lord to prop us up on our leaning side, 'cause I figure a lot of us get to leaning at times.
Sometimes we get to leaning toward anger, leaning toward bitterness, leaning toward hatred, leaning toward cussing, leaning toward a lot of things that we shouldn’t. So we need to pray, 'Lord, prop us up on our leaning side, so we will stand straight and tall again, to glorify the Lord.''

"Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful." - Proverbs 27:6
Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
"Here is my command. Love each other, just as I have loved you. No one has greater love than the one who gives his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command." John 15:12-14
"I do not call you servants anymore. Servants do not know their master's business. Instead, I have called you friends. I have told you everything I learned from my Father." John 15:15

"I have wondered at times what the Ten Commandments would have looked like if Moses had run them through the U.S. Congress." Ronald Reagan
"Death stung himself to death when he stung Christ." ~ William Romaine

Ladies’ Night Out for February: Bunco!!! This Friday, 6pm @ Pastor’s house. Suggest you might consider parking in the church drive. It takes 12 to play the game. This is a first time for everyone so this will be a night of learning the game. Bring a food along to share. Also, let’s sweeten the pot – each person bring something for the Bunco Queen of the night. (Get creative. Ex: pack of gum, candy bar, lip gloss, etc.) If weather is bad it will be rescheduled for the following Friday.

Prepare to Meet Your God
And the LORD said to Moses, “Go to the people and consecrate them today and tomorrow. Have them wash their clothes and be ready by the third day, because on that day the LORD will come down on Mount Sinai in the sight of all the people. Exodus 19: 10-11
Meeting with God requires preparation. God is awesome and perfectly holy. Barging into His presence unprepared is an affront. When the children of Israel were to meet with Him, God commanded them first to take two full days to prepare. Once the people were ready, however, God spoke to them with thunder and lightning, with fire and smoke and the sound of loud trumpets (Exodus 19:16-25). It was through this encounter that God revealed such marvelous truths as the Ten Commandments, establishing the standard by which God expected His people to live.
You cannot spend day after day in the world without its affecting your mind and will and heart. It doesn’t take long to become disoriented to the ways of God. The world has a dulling effect on your spiritual sensibilities. God established the Sabbath so His people could take an entire day to refocus on Him and His will for them after spending six days in the world.
How do you prepare for your times of worship? What fills your mind the night before? Often the last thing you put into your mind at night is still on your mind the next morning. Genuine worship requires spiritual preparation. Prepare yourself now for your next encounter with God. (Taken from Experiencing God by Henry T. Blackaby and Richard Blackaby)
