We also received a very nice note from Pastor Jim’s pen pal, Marilyn. Also posted on the Bulletin Board in the 8th St entrance. It seems she very much considers us her church family. Has God laid it on your heart to get to know her?

There's a story about the devil auctioning off his tools. He had a high price on pride, laziness, arrogance, hate, envy, and jealousy. But there was one tool that had a sign under it, "Not For Sale." Someone said, "What is that tool, and why isn't it for sale?" "Well," he said, "I can't afford to get rid of that one. It's my chief tool, discouragement. With this tool, I can pry open a heart and once I get in I can do most anything I want." Do you want me to tell you why you get discouraged? I'll give it to you in a nutshell  you've taken your eyes off God!

Psalm 25:15 - "Mine eyes are ever toward the Lord..."

Are you discouraged? If not, praise God! And find someone who is so that you can give them the encouragement they need in Jesus Christ. Maybe it's your next-door neighbor. Maybe it's a co-worker. Maybe it's your spouse.

Work like you don't need the money.

Love like you've never been hurt.

Dance like nobody's watching.

Sing like nobody's listening.
Live like it's Heaven on Earth.
Serve like you’re serving Jesus.

The winds of discouragement have been raging once again. God led me to these promises from His Word to share. They reply perfectly to the lies of the enemy. This is the God I serve:
Isaiah 54:10  Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed,     yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed," says the LORD, who has compassion on you.
Isaiah 54:17  no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you.
This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and this is their vindication from me,"
declares the LORD.
Psalm 31:20 In the shelter of your presence you hide them
from the intrigues of men; in your dwelling you keep them safe from accusing tongues.
Psalm 32: 7-8 You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah. I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.

Johnny’s Mother looked out the window and noticed him  "playing church" with their cat.  He had the cat sitting quietly and he was preaching to it. She smiled and went about her work. A while later she heard loud meowing and hissing and ran back to the open window to see Johnny baptizing the cat in a tub of water. She called out, "Johnny, stop that! The cat is afraid of water!" Johnny looked up at her and said, "He should have thought about that before he joined my church."

RECEIVED IN AN EMAIL FOR ANYONE INTERESTED:
Hello Group Workcamp Volunteers!

The big week (June 13-19) is quickly approaching and there are still a few details to be put in place before the campers get here. I have been working with our pre-camp director John to make sure we have things in place for the arrival of the students. Here are the items to be finished up.

0. We will be putting together the “Welcome Goodie Bags” for the campers toward the end of next week. Anyone who would like to be a part of this project please let me know. The exact date will depend on when we have all the items to be placed in the bag. I’m hoping either Friday the 11th or Saturday the 12th.

0. We will need a few material volunteers who would be willing to be available the week of camp to take care of special needs at work sites that arise. These folks may also help by delivering extra items to work sites or just general errands.

0. Also a few hospitality volunteers to help distribute snacks and things to the students at the work sites and/or at the High School where they will be staying.

0. We are also in need of a few more ladders for the week of the camp. If you have one or two to lend, please let me know!

Thank you for your help in these last few items that we need to address…please contact me if you are willing to help.

THANKS!!!
