FIVE FINGER PRAYER:
1. Your thumb is nearest you.. So begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember. To pray for our loved ones is, as C. S. Lewis once said, a 'sweet duty.'
2. The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers. They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction.
Keep them in your prayers.
3. The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders. Pray for the president, leaders in business and industry, and administrators. These people shape our nation and guide public opinion.
They need God's guidance.
4. The fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to many is the fact that this is our weakest finger, as any piano teacher will testify. It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain. They need your prayers day and night. You cannot pray too much for them.
5. And lastly comes our little finger - the smallest finger of all which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others. As the Bible says, 'The least shall be the greatest among you.' Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself. By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively.

Freedom is fundamental to us as individuals. It is a basic gift from God. Words engraved on Jefferson’s Memorial reflect that truth: “God who gave us life gave us liberty at the same time.” God made us to enjoy freedom: “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free…” (Gal. 5:1). Freedom is also foundational to America. Our Declaration of Independence eloquently states: “We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.” God is not only the author of our freedom as individuals, but also for our nation.
Yet freedom is costly. Freedom requires sacrifice. True freedom only comes at a great price. Freedom is not “free.” And that is not only true spiritually, costing the life of Jesus on the
cross, but it is true nationally. The cost of freedom is great. Just view the rows of markers in Arlington Cemetery and the cemeteries of American Servicemen, visit the graveyards throughout France and other countries, consider the forgotten bodies of our heroes who lie where they fell and those buried in the waters of the Seven Seas where they gave their all… not only for us, but for the freedom of other nations and other peoples.
We should always remember—these brave souls bought and paid for our freedom. As the Lord Jesus put it: “Greater love has no man than this, that he lay down his life for his friend” (John 15:13) or in this case, his country.
Because of God’s blessing and because of the sacrifices of our military, no other nation enjoys such great freedoms as America. Consequently, we should honor the brave and intrepid souls who serve in our military, as well as their families, and never let their sacrifices be in vain. We should honor military personnel and never use them to advance an ungodly social agenda, such as the President Obama’s plan to allow open homosexual behavior in the Armed Forces.

In his State of the Union Address, President Barack Obama announced his desire to repeal the current policy of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” established by President Bill Clinton but not actually a part of statutory law. Following his lead, Congress is in the process of passing deceptively titled legislation: “Military Readiness Enhancement Act of 2010” (S. 3065, H.R. 1283), to repeal the current law that forbids homosexual conduct and replace it with “a policy of nondiscrimination based on sexual orientation” so that men and women may openly engage in homosexual (and bisexual) behavior in the Armed Forces. To add further insult, this legislation is being attached to the Defense Authorization Bill, which funds the military. However, here are some points to consider:
1. Historical: The Bible is clear in its denunciation of homosexual behavior (e.g., Leviticus 18:22; Romans 1:21-28; 1 Corinthians 6:9). Upon a Scriptural basis, our Founding Fathers and early laws uniformly opposed its practice in American society. In fact, General George Washington, Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army, not only forbade homosexual behavior, but punished offenders by having them “drummed out” of the military. Shouldn’t the current Commander-In-Chief follow that example?
2. Legal: Article 125 of the current Uniform Code of Military Justice precludes homosexual behavior (along with adultery and other sexual misconduct) among active service personnel, stating: “Any person found guilty of sodomy shall be punished as a court-martial may direct.” Also, Section 654, Title 10 of the United States Code, declares, “The presence in the armed forces of persons who demonstrate a propensity or intent to engage in homosexual acts would create an unacceptable risk to the high standards of morale, good order and discipline, and unit cohesion that are the essence of military capability.” Congress is trying to repeal this law. Shouldn’t the military
commanders be heard in the shaping of such an important policy?
3. Practical: The new policy would not only lead to forced sensitivity training, free speech restrictions, religious liberty infringements on military chaplains, etc., but would likely result in a deterioration of unit cohesion, a weakening of military readiness, and the loss of many fine potential and active-duty service personnel. Why should those who are already making so many sacrifices for us be used to advance a radical social agenda?
Action Steps: The House already voted in favor of the repeal. The Senate is next.

2. Pray for your Elected Officials: Ask for divine wisdom on this issue (1 Tim. 2:1-4)
3. Contact your Senators as soon as possible and urge them to oppose the repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” and to uphold the current law. Call the U.S. Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121 and ask for your Senators. Or visit www.FRC.org and click on Contact Officials. As Christians, we must let our voices be heard.

Praise the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. Psalm 150:1
You are awesome, O God, in your sanctuary; the God of Israel gives power and strength to his people. Praise be to God! Psalm 68:35
How to stay safe in the World today
1. Avoid riding in automobiles Because they are responsible for 20% of all fatal accidents.
2. Do not stay home because 17% of all accidents occur in the home.
3. Avoid walking on streets or sidewalks Because 14% of all accidents Occur to pedestrians.
4. Avoid traveling by air, rail, or water Because 16% of all accidents involve These forms of transportation.
5. Of the remaining 33%, 32% of all deaths occur in Hospitals. So,.. Above all else, Avoid hospitals.
But.... You will be pleased to learn that only .001% of all deaths occur in worship services in church, And these are usually related to previous physical disorders. Therefore, logic tells us that the safest place for you to be at any given point in time is at church! .... And.... Bible study is safe too. The percentage of deaths During Bible study is even less. So, Attend church, And read your Bible IT COULD SAVE YOUR LIFE!

Mother’s Day Fellowship: It was a wonderful time of fellowship. A big thank you to the men who cleaned up. A huge thank you to Danielle and Jackie for doing an awesome job putting it together.

Why are we so sleepy in church but right when the sermon is over we suddenly wake up?
Isn't it funny how someone can say 'I believe in God' but still follow Satan (who, by the way, also 'believes' in God).
Isn't it funny how I can be more worried about what other people think of me than what God thinks of me.
