HEAVENLY FATHER,
We praise you above all. May you watch over and wrap your mighty arms around all of our friends. If anyone, whatsoever has a need, may POWERFUL. No need is too small or too large. May you bless and keep our friends through out this week and always.
AMEN
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound you fulfill it. YOU are AWESOME and mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7
Whatever
your cross is, whatever your pain may be, and there
will always be sunshine after the rain. Perhaps you
may stumble, perhaps even fall; But God's always
ready to answer your call. He knows every heartache,
sees every tear. A word from His lips can calm every
fear your sorrows may linger throughout the night,
but suddenly vanish in dawn's early light. The Savior
is waiting somewhere above; to give you His grace and
send you His love. Whatever you’re cross,
whatever your pain,
God always sends rainbows, after the rain
"But
God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we
were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans
5:8)
PRODIGAL
SON
We
were sitting in church a few weeks ago while the
priest delivered a sermon based on the timeless story
of the prodigal son. When he got to the point where
the father sees his son returning and races out to
meet him, the minister said "Throwing wide his arms,
the father said..." ...At which point a young boy
jumped up & shouted, "YOU'RE GROUNDED!"
CHILDREN
At
the Henry Street Hebrew School, Goldblatt, the new
teacher, finished the day's lesson. It was now time
for the usual question period. "Mr. Goldblatt,"
announced little Joey, "there's somethin' I can't
figger out."
"What's that Joey?" asked Goldblatt.
"Well
accordin' to the Bible, the Children of Israel
crossed the Red Sea, right?"
"Right."
"An' the Children of Israel beat up the
Philistines, right?"
"Er--right."
"An'
the Children of Israel built the Temple, right?"
"Again you're right."
"An' the Children
of Israel fought the 'gyptians, an' the Children of
Israel fought the Romans, an' the Children of Israel
wuz always doin' somethin' important, right?"
"All that is right, too," agreed Goldblatt.
"So what's your question?"
"What I wanna know
is this," demanded Joey. "What wuz all the grown-ups
doin?"

Blessed Assurance
By: Fanny Crosby
Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine! Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine! Heir of salvation, purchase of God, Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood.
This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Savior all the day long; This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Savior all the day long.
Perfect submission, perfect delight, Visions of rapture now burst on my sight; Angels, descending, bring from above Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.
Perfect submission, all is at rest, I in my Savior am happy and blest, Watching and waiting, looking above, Filled with His goodness, lost in His love.
WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT…CHILD TRAINING continued By J. Richard Fugate
The Ages of a Child (cont.)
Depending on how the
parents handled the child stage, the youth will be
prepared either to accept their teaching or to reject
their advice, way of life, and even them personally.
The properly trained child will begin in his youth to
operate on his own internal controls as he accepts
increasing responsibilities and accountability for
himself. A youth who was not caused to come under the
control of his parents as a child will rebel more and
more violently at any attempt by parents, school, or
any other force to restrict his total freedom. The
youth who has actually established his own control
over the parents will increasingly exercise his
dominion over them in order to satisfy his
self-centered existence.
The term
“adult” is used to describe a son or
daughter twenty years old or older. Biblically, the
adult male became fully accountable to God and the
nation, including accountability for military draft
and taxes, at twenty. The adult female still remained
under the protection and leadership of her father
until she was given in marriage.
No longer a youth, the adult has come to the end of
the training period. The youth who has been properly
trained and is now in adulthood will continue to
honor his parents, and his life will reflect their
good training, thereby bringing them great joy. If
the parents have also earned his respect for their
character and wisdom, the young adult will continue
to look to them for advice.

I knelt to pray but not for long,
I had too much to do.
I had to hurry and get to work
For bills would soon be due.
So I knelt and said a hurried prayer,
And jumped up off my knees.
My Christian duty was now done
My soul could rest at ease.....
All day long I had no time
To spread a word of cheer
No time to speak of Christ to friends,
They'd laugh at me I'd fear.
No time, no time, too much to do,
That was my constant cry,
No time to give to souls in need
But at last the time, the time to die.
I went before the Lord,
I came, I stood with downcast eyes.
For in his hands God held a book;
It was the book of life.
God looked into his book and said
"Your name I cannot find
I once was going to write it down...
But never found the time"

Almighty God, these past years will be indelibly inscribed in our memories.
We looked with horror on the terrorist attacks of September 11th. But we looked with honor on acts of courage by ordinary people who sacrificed themselves to prevent further death and destruction.
We shed our tears in a common bond of grief for those we loved and lost. We journeyed through a dark valley, but your light has led us to a place of hope. You have turned our grief into determination. We are resolved to do what is good, and right, and just.
Help us to remember what it means to be Americans— a people endowed with abundant blessings. Help us to cherish the freedoms we enjoy and inspire us to stand with courage, united as one Nation in the midst of any adversity.
Lord, hear this prayer for our Nation. Amen.

Sixty years I’ve been standing
Here, by the side of the road.
And the world has been passing me by
Carrying its heavy load
Some stopped in to worship
Some came in to pray,
Others passed me by
As they daily went their way.
The children came to Sunday School
And listened to the teacher
While others came at worship hour
To listen to the preacher.
Many have stood at the alter
While their vows to God were given
Some are still living today
While others have gone to heaven.
A full sixty years, I’ve been here
And many changes I have seen
But let us lift our hearts in thanks
For the years have not been lean.
God has blessed us in countless ways
Our bodies and souls he has fed.
As our memory goes over the past
We can see the way HE has led.
We want HIM to lead in the future
We want HIS church to grow
We want our lives to count for HIM
As we travel this world below.

WHAT
THE BIBLE SAYS ABOUT CHILD TRAINING continued…
By J. Richard Fugate
The
Ages of A Child
Children
progress through several more or less distinct stages
of development on their way to becoming an adult. The
Greek and Hebrew languages of the Bible utilize
specific words to identify each of these different
stages. We will use the terms infant, child, youth,
and adult for these Biblical words. Understanding the
characteristics of each of these stages is important
for knowing how to train children.
The
term infant is used to describe the first stage of
childhood. This period begins with total dependence
on the parents, particularly on the mother. The
infant is defenseless and must constantly be cared
for physically. He demands that every need be
fulfilled instantly. During this period he develops a
sense of security through the care he receives. This
care is evidenced by holding the baby, attending to
his needs, stimulating his responses, and keeping him
warm and free from the pain of hunger, wetness, pins,
or any other discomfort.
The infant rapidly moves through this first stage as
he develops strength. He begins to discover a sense
of self-reliance in his increasing lack of dependency
on others to fulfill his needs. He can no longer be
considered an infant when he is able to express his
independence by getting around on his own.
The term child is used to describe a little child in
contrast to a youth in his teens. It is during this
period that children will attempt to establish their
own will as their only ruler. They can be expected to
reject and fight against any restriction of their
freedom. Their own desires will govern their actions
as they seek to please only themselves.
When a child wants approval, he may do what others
require of him for a time. When he wants attention,
he may intentionally cause trouble to receive it.
When he wants to express his own will, he will
challenge the expression of any other
person’s
will. Almost all parents have seen a child turn down
a candy bar, or something else he really likes, just
to exert his own will and independence. Children will
utilize one or more of these techniques during their
childhood.
The child stage is when most of the behavior patterns
are established for life. The patterns of respect of
authority, respect for the rights of others, honesty,
harmony, patience, self-control, study and work,
concern for others, and personal contentment can all
be developed during this period. Because of the
formative nature of the child’s
mind during this stage, parents should establish and
enforce rules for acceptable and unacceptable
conduct.
My
Psalm
Fill
my heart with kindness Lord,
Let it overflow
with cheer,
Help me eliminate moments in
life,
Where there may be some fear.
Cause
me to perform many simple deeds,
And let each
aftermath be profound,
So the Light of your
Eternal Love,
In lost souls can be
found.
Teach me how to pray Dear
Lord,
And hear what I might say.
Allow me
to honor and glorify You,
In a thankful yet
humble way.
Inspire me to
appreciate
Each flower, plant or
tree,
Whole beauty is another lesson
in
True Peace and
Tranquility.
Guide me as I tread
upon,
Each pathway strewn with love,
Let
my soul illuminate blessings
Which I receive
from You above.
When my life on earth is
over,
Let me bow before Thy throne,
And
judge me for each act of love,
That I have
truly shown.
