From Pastor’s Rib: Just so you know: Wednesday night a message with interpretation came forth. We were instructed to make use of our prayer closets and husbands were told to pray with their wives lest one be taken and one be left behind.

Christmas Blessings: Let’s begin now so that by Christmas we’ll have a nice amount saved up. Right now we are asking for canned vegetables and canned fruit. Leave your contributions by the water fountain and we’ll take them down stairs.
Sunday Night Bible Study: Robin will be taking the kids outside on the playground provided it isn’t raining. Please dress your child accordingly.

A little boy opened the big family Bible. He was fascinated as he fingered through the old pages. Suddenly, something fell out of the Bible. He picked up the object and looked at it.. What he saw was an old leaf that had been pressed in between the pages. 'Mama, look what I found,' the boy called out... 'What have you got there, dear?’ With astonishment in the young boy's voice, he answered, 'I think it's Adam's underwear!'

From Pastor’s Rib: I made a commitment to complete the Follower’s Journal that goes with the Bible study we are doing. I have every intention of keeping my commitment. But I fell short during the 2nd week. A week ago yesterday, I failed to do my journal. As if that wasn’t bad enough, I didn’t do it last Sunday either. Monday morning came and I became a total failure. I was determined to catch back up, so after work on Monday, I sat down and turned to Saturday’s entry. I came up out of my chair with a happy dance after reading the Scripture for Saturday. You see, on Sunday at church, I had given a Word from the Lord about being lukewarm. I took that Word serious and was determined to pursue the things of God with all my strength. So when I read the Scripture from that journal, I was overwhelmed by the grace God was showing my life. The Scripture? Rev. 3:15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. (Thank You, Lord)
WHY I LOVE CHILDREN
While taking a routine vandalism report at an elementary school, I was interrupted by a little girl about 6 years old. Looking up and down at my uniform, she asked, 'Are you a cop? Yes,' I answered and continued writing the report My mother said if I ever needed help I should ask the police. Is that right?' 'Yes, that's right,' I told her. 'Well, then,' she said as she extended her foot toward me, 'would you please tie my shoe?' ……………………………………………………………………………….
While working for an organization that delivers lunches to elderly shut-ins, I used to take my 4-year-old daughter on my afternoon rounds. She was unfailingly intrigued by the various appliances of old age, particularly the canes, walkers and wheelchairs... One day I found her staring at a pair of false teeth soaking in a glass. As I braced myself for the inevitable barrage of questions, she merely turned and whispered, 'The tooth fairy will never believe this!' ………………………………………………………………………………...
While walking along the sidewalk in front of his church, our minister heard the intoning of a prayer that nearly made his collar wilt. Apparently, his 5-year-old son and his playmates had found a dead robin. Feeling that proper burial should be performed, they had secured a small box and cotton batting, then dug a hole and made ready for the disposal of the deceased. The minister's son was chosen to say the appropriate prayers and with sonorous dignity intoned his version of what he thought his father always said: 'Glory be unto the Faaather, and unto the Sonnn, and into the hole he goooes.' ………………………………………………………………………………………...

Isabella Dible – This child’s bowel flipped over, causing blockage. Pray they can get it to flip back to avoid surgery.

A little boy got lost at the YMCA and found himself in the women's locker room. When he was spotted, the room burst into shrieks, with ladies grabbing towels and running for cover. The little boy watched in amazement and then asked, 'What's the matter, haven't you ever seen a little boy before?'

A little girl was watching her parents dress for a party. When she saw her dad donning his tuxedo, she warned, 'Daddy, you shouldn't wear that suit.' 'And why not, darling?' 'You know that it always gives you a headache the next morning.'

It was the end of the day when I parked my police van in front of the station. As I gathered my equipment, my K-9 partner, Jake, was barking, and I saw a little boy staring in at me. 'Is that a dog you got back there?' he asked. 'It sure is,' I replied. Puzzled, the boy looked at me and then towards the back of the van. Finally he said, 'What'd he do?'

Practice! Practice! Practice! Gospel Sing at the Court Square: September 24. D.O.C. and the Junior Choir will practice on Sunday’s @ 4pm in preparation.
Save the date: Our annual Christmas party will be December 16 @ Keene Grange.
Homeless Shelter: A collection box has been placed on the table by the door for donations. Looking for: Shampoo & Conditioner. Deodorant. Toothpaste. Tooth brushes. Soap. Body Wash. Shaving Cream, Brushes & Combs. Any personal item you can think of to donate.
Donations to India: Kayla Crouso is going to India to do a work for the Lord. She is asking for donations of art supplies, Bibles, reading curriculum for teaching English and embroidery/tailoring supplies. She will be working with children doing crafts and teaching women to sew or embroider so that they have the means to make some money for a living. She will be spreading the gospel with every opportunity she gets. There will be a collection box put up next week. She needs this by September 15 so there’s no time to spare.
Colossians: 28 We proclaim Him, warning and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone mature in Christ. 29 I labor for this, striving with His strength that works powerfully in me. Happy Labor Day!
WHY I LOVE CHILDREN
I was driving with my three young children one warm summer evening when a woman in the convertible ahead of us stood up and waved. She was stark naked! As I was reeling from the shock, I heard my 5-year-old shout from the back seat, 'Mom, that lady isn't wearing a seat belt!'
A woman was trying hard to get the ketchup out of the jar. During her struggle the phone rang so she asked her 4-year-old daughter to answer the phone. 'Mommy can't come to the phone to talk to you right now. She's hitting the bottle.'
